Nextail named a Representative Vendor in the 2026 Gartner® Market Guide for Retail Forecasting, Allocation and Replenishment Solutions: Short Life Cycle Products

  • This is the 3rd consecutive edition of this Gartner Market Guide to name Nextail as a Representative Vendor
  • The 2026 guide highlights the growing role of AI agents in retail forecasting, allocation and replenishment

MADRID – Nextail, he AI-powered merchandising platform for fashion retail, has been named a Representative Vendor in the latest Gartner “Market Guide for Retail Forecasting, Allocation and Replenishment Solutions: Short Life Cycle Products (16 March 2026).”

The 2026 edition of the Market Guide focuses on short life cycle products such as seasonal apparel, accessories and footwear, which are categories where allocation decisions are critical because errors often lead directly to markdowns and margin erosion, and where precise initial allocation and limited replenishment opportunities make AI-driven merchandising essential. The report also identifies fashion and apparel segments as among those with the most to gain from accelerated AI and ML capability adoption.

The report also identifies that: “retail merchandising is moving rapidly from traditional ML automation and toward embedded AI agents that participate directly within all core merchandising workflows, including retail forecasting, allocation and replenishment solutions. Vendors increasingly describe a shift from “assistants” that explain forecasts or flag exceptions to AI agents that can act on behalf of planners – executing low-risk tasks such as tuning parameters like smoothing replenishment flows”.

Nextail offers AI- and ML-driven, hyperlocal demand forecasting across its entire solutions suite, including in-season Allocation and Replenishment. These solutions, built with deep fashion retail expertise and developed specifically for industry use cases, enable retailers to maximize sales potential while lowering inventory levels and achieving sell-through increases.

“To us, being named a Representative Vendor reflects the work we’ve put into building solutions that are technically advanced and deeply practical for fashion retailers,” said Carlos Miragall, CEO of Nextail. “The industry is looking for such tools that are giving merchandisers the power to make faster, smarter decisions without losing control of the process.”

Through the use of Nextail demand forecasting across allocation and replenishment solutions, major global fashion retailers typically see lower coverage levels, fewer stockouts, and can increase sales and the average weight price of items. By entirely automating in-season processes, retailers can also drastically reduce manual work associated with allocation and replenishment.

“We are proud to be named in the Gartner Market Guide for Retail Forecasting, Allocation and Replenishment Solutions,” continued Miragall. “We believe this recognition reinforces our commitment to helping fashion retailers worldwide get the most out of every season by reducing waste, protecting margin and responding to demand with the speed and precision that modern retail requires.”

Previously, Nextail had also been named a Representative Vendor in the 2022 and 2024 Gartner® Market Guide for Retail Forecasting, Allocation and Replenishment Solutions as well as a case study about the fashion retailer Guess in Gartner Case Study: Improving Apparel Inventory Results Using Machine Learning (Gartner subscription required).
